Two great fall flavors in one.
I had so much fun making my Caramel Apple Pull Apart Bread, I just couldn’t resist the urge to try it again. I started thinking about other fall flavors to try, and I kept coming back to two that are really popular at this time of year: pumpkin spice and salted caramel. So I thought, hey, why not try both at once?
Now, when I made the Caramel Apple Pull Apart Bread, I just drizzled the caramel on top. But for this one, I wanted to turn the caramel flavor up a notch. I wanted that caramel baked right into the bread.
So I started out with a can of biscuit dough, sliced the biscuits into circles, and coated them with a sweet and spicy pumpkin mixture. Then, to give it a real caramel punch, I added chopped-up caramels sprinkled right on top of the biscuits. I laid out these sticky-sweet pieces in the pan with the biscuit side out, brushed a little melted butter on top, and baked it.
The result? A beautiful, golden loaf with the cinnamon-y pumpkin and rich, buttery caramel baked into every slice. It’s a sweet, sticky, spicy treat with all the best flavors of fall.
Easy Pumpkin Caramel Pull Apart Bread
1 can homestyle biscuit dough (I used the butter flavored)
½ cup pumpkin puree
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp granulated sugar
3-4 cubes of melting caramels (or ¼ cup chopped caramels)
Extra butter for brushing
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees, spray a loaf pan with nonstick.
2. Stir together pumpkin, vanilla, cinnamon, and sugar until evenly blended.
3. Open your biscuits, and with a sharp serrated knife, cut each in half to form two circles. Lay all circles out on a piece of parchment paper or nonstick surface.
4. One by one, spread on a little pumpkin mixture to cover each biscuit.
5. Cut/chop up your caramels into tiny pieces, then sprinkle on top of your biscuits.
6. Stack all biscuits on top of each other in 3 different rows (for convenience), then add them to your pan so that they fit snugly inside in a single line.
7. Brush a little butter on top, bake for 20-25 minutes or until done on the inside, and then serve!
